Week of 11/2/26

The clocks have turned back and now it’s getting darker earlier. For me, that change has always made the evenings feel heavier and lonelier. If this time of day is difficult for you, it might help to make a small plan before the evening arrives. Think about when the evening feels hardest. Is it coming home to an empty house? Dinnertime? Getting ready for bed? The darkness? Knowing that can help you decide where a little support might make a difference. You could arrange a phone call around that time. Make reaching out a little easier. You don’t have to explain everything you’re feeling. A text can be as simple as, “The evenings have been hard lately. Would you have time to talk this week?” People may want to help but not know when you need company. Give yourself permission to change a familiar routine. If sitting in the same place watching the same show makes their absence feel especially painful, it’s okay to try something different. It’s also okay to keep a routine that helps you feel close to your person. If you could use some company in the weeks ahead, we hope you’ll join us at one of our groups. You don’t have to know what to say. Listening is welcome too.
