Pedaling for Axel: 100 Kilometers. 100 Donors.
On September 13, 2026, Kirk Anderson and Janel will cycle 100 kilometers along Minnesota’s Root River Trail in memory of Kirk’s son, Axel.
After Axel died, Kirk found comfort, understanding and some of his closest friends through The Sun Will Rise Foundation. Now he is giving back by raising $6,000 to help us continue providing free peer grief support to people bereaved due to substance use-related causes.
Kirk hopes to bring together 100 donors for this year’s 100-kilometer ride. Every donation, at any amount, will help move him closer to that goal.
