Week of 10/5/26

What a week for The Sun Will Rise!

The merger with Team Sharing is officially complete, and we are so glad to welcome the Team Sharing community into The Sun Will Rise. We know how much these connections mean to the people who rely on them. Team Sharing chapters will continue as they are for now, and we’ll meet with the state admins this week to talk about what comes next.

On Saturday, Together in the Light brought our community together at Venezia to celebrate ten years of The Sun Will Rise and honor Cheryl Juaire as she retires. The celebration was a huge success! There was so much love in that room, and it meant more than we can put into words to share the evening with so many people who have been part of this work.

Cheryl, thank you for building Team Sharing and for all you have given to families after the deaths of their children. We are honored to carry that work forward.

To everyone who attended or supported the evening, thank you. It was amazing because of all of you! A special thank-you to our volunteers who put so much care into making the evening happen, and to our sponsors, donors and community partners for your commitment to this work.

One of the most meaningful parts of the evening was our remembrance sun, with the words “Remembering those who brought us together” above it. Guests added names and messages to its rays, honoring the people they carry in their hearts. Each ray represented someone deeply missed, with a place in our celebration. They are the reason this community exists, and their memory remains at the heart of everything we do. The rays also served a second purpose. Through our Fund a Need, guests chose a preprinted slip with a specific need they wanted to fund, then added it the sun. Each one became a tribute that will help us continue supporting others.

There was both grief and joy at this event. We could laugh and dance while still wishing our people were there with us. Celebrating didn’t mean we missed them any less. It meant we could share a joyful evening with people who understood just how much we still carry. Thanks for being those people.
