Artful Healing
Over the past few months we’ve hosted several different types of hands on grief workshops, both virtually and in-person. Each one has shown us how powerful simple creativity can be. Sitting together with markers, scissors, paper, paints and images gives our hearts another way to speak when words fall short.
Our next workshop, Grief Collage Workshop: Clarity Through Collage lets us create something tangible from what feels invisible. Each piece can hold a memory, a hope or even a question we can’t yet name. No art experience is needed, just a desire to spend an afternoon in quiet companionship, making meaning from fragments. Leave with a personal collage that reflects where you are in your grief and a small sense of calm that comes from making something with your own hands.
Whether you joined us for our earlier art based sessions or are coming for the first time, you’re welcome at the table for this workshop on 9/28/25. (registration required) Not local? Search the word “grief” on eventbrite or another event platform for grief events near you.

SADOD’s September PSYCHOEDUCATIONAL WORKSHOP: Memorializing Our Loved Ones Tuesday, September 23, 2025, 6:30 - 8:00 pm ET One of the best ways to move through our grief is to recognize and honor our loved ones. While we often hear phrases like “gone, but never forgotten,” it can sometimes feel daunting to memorialize our loved ones in a way that feels true to us and true to them. Join SADOD for their September workshop where we will discuss creative, yet practical ways to memorialize loved ones- from blogging to art, nothing is off the table. This workshop will take place virtually on Zoom. Learn more and register at bit.ly/memorializing-workshop. Please note this workshop has a $10 fee for individuals outside of Massachusetts. Massachusetts residents may attend this workshop for free due to funding from MA-BSAS by using promo code MASS at the time of registration. If cost is an issue, please contact Laura@sadod.org
