The Sun Will Rise Weekly Update
Week of September 1, 2024
Hello Friends,
We have three in-person regular groups, two regular zoom groups and one specialty zoom group this week. Login and location info. follow at the bottom of this newsletter.
DO YOU THINK THEY HEARD US?
Many of us were loud this month. We told the world about our people. With no stigma, with no shame. I wonder if others who haven’t been affected yet by the grief of overdose or substance use related cause deaths listened? I hope they did. What I do know, is that our community of grievers heard you. And we will remember them. Add your person to our IOAD facebook post, the SADOD Honoring the Many online memorial or the Mosaic Memory Wall. Because whether you are loud or quiet in your grief, they will always be remembered by us.
~ With care

I WILL BE HERE
Read by Olivia Wagner at the Braintree IOAD Ceremony
ADAPTED FROM STEVEN CURTIS CHAPMAN
Tomorrow morning if you wake up
And the sun does not feel like it will appear
I will still be here
If in the dark you lose sight of love
Imagine my hand and have no fear
Because I will still be here
I will still be here
When you feel like being quiet
When you need to speak your mind
I will listen
And I will still be here
When the laughter turns to crying
Through the longing, missing and sighing
We will still be together
Because I will still be here
Tomorrow morning if you wake up
And the future is unclear
I will still be here
As sure as seasons are made for change
Our lifetimes are made for uncertain years
I will still be here
And you can talk to me like you always do
When the quiet seems like it will take over you
I will hold you, site unseen
I will still be here
And I will always be here
To watch you live
And tell you all the things you are to me
If you listen very carefully
I will be here until your end
When we will be together again
And yet I will always be here.
