Week of October 6, 2024

Hello Friends,

This week we have three in-person regular groups, one in-person specialty group, one regular zoom group, four specialty zoom group and one special event. Login and location information follow at the bottom of this newsletter.

Alternative Supports

This past week we offered a Music Therapy Workshop as a way to see other what other ways are out there to support people in their grief. We learned that Music Therapy can offer powerful healing for those grieving by providing an emotional outlet that words alone might not express. It helps grievers process their feelings through melodies, rhythms, and lyrics, allowing them to connect with their emotions in a supportive, non-verbal way. Music can evoke memories, bring comfort, and foster a sense of connection with the deceased, all while reducing feelings of isolation. For many, engaging with music can be a soothing and transformative part of their grief journey, offering a safe space for reflection and emotional release. As a group, we were able to make a song together in a short time! It was beautiful and each of us added our own little piece to it. Here is a link to the workshop slide show and here is our song.

Our next virtual workshop event is a suicide prevention training class. Please join us. If you have a suggestion for a virtual workshop, let us know!

~ With care
